Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp yeast (instant or active dry)
- ½ tsp salt
- ⅓ cup warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)
- 1 Tbsp oil (vegetable, canola, or olive oil)
Steps
- Add flour, sugar, yeast, and salt to a large Ziploc bag.
- Pour in the warm water and oil. Seal the bag (press out most of the air).
- Knead the bag for 3–5 minutes until a soft dough forms.
- Let out the air, reseal the bag, and let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
- Remove the dough from the bag, shape it into a small loaf, and place it on a greased baking sheet or in a small loaf pan.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
Tips
- Use a gallon-size Ziploc bag so you have room to knead.
- The dough will be a bit sticky at first — that’s normal.
- For a shinier crust, brush the top with a little melted butter or milk before baking.
- This makes a small single-serving loaf. Double the recipe if you want a bigger one (just use a bigger bag or two bags).
Enjoy your easy homemade bread!
