Quick & Easy 20-Minute Bread

October 10, 2026

A simple no-yeast bread that comes together fast using baking powder.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (240 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (240 ml) warm water
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the warm water and olive oil. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 2–3 minutes until it comes together.
  5. Shape into a round or oval loaf and place on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Cut 3 diagonal slits on top of the dough.
  7. Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.

Tips for better results

  • Don’t over-knead — this is a quick bread, not a yeast dough.
  • For a softer crumb, brush the hot loaf with melted butter right after baking.
  • Best eaten the same day. It doesn’t keep as well as yeast bread.
  • You can add herbs, garlic powder, or cheese for extra flavor.

Simple, fast, and ready in about 20 minutes. Enjoy!
